Sunset on the High Plains

A letter through music…

Dear World,

I hear Marvin Gaye asking “What’s Going On?” and I wish I could answer. All I see is and feel is “Inner City Blues“. While I don’t see the “Pusherman” here in the open, I know he or she is there. I know that there is a war going within so many. If Whitney, Amy and others who have walked the path had gotten to and/or stayed in “Rehab,” maybe they would still be here. If someone had talked to Don and these others who needed help, we wouldn’t be talking about it’s “Too Late to Apologize” and “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.” Now, we all have to wait for “One Sweet Day” to see these folks at the pearly gates. We hope that they have “Gone Up to Yonder.”

Had someone been there with them and so many others who’ve been cut short through abuse, talking about “Hold My Hand,”  maybe, just bloody well maybe, we wouldn’t be talking about being “Together Again“. Maybe, had many not been “Gold diggers” and had instead been there reminding them of what “The Greatest Love Of All” is and to “Count On Me“, I wouldn’t be writing this letter tonight.

I hear and feel John Lennon and Yoko Ono talking to us saying that we should “Give Peace a Chance” and it saddens me to know that for as many of us hear this, there are many more who choose to ignore it. Instead, they speak of “War” and the rest of us ask “what is it good for?” Seriously?? WTF??? Violence, Drugs, Sadness… it consumes us.

So many women want to be “Barbie and California Girls” and yet, if we look through the music capsule, Christina was talking about being “Beautiful“, Pink told us that we’re “Fucking Perfect” and Whitney told us that “The Greatest Love Of All” is within ourselves.

Guys tryin’ to be “Big Poppa” and be “All About The Benjamins” in such a superficial way, if they aren’t careful, we’ll be talking about “I’ll be Missin’ You.” People are all about “For the Love of Money” and in some cases are discovering that “Mo Money, Mo Problems” and even that “Haters Gonna Hate.” It’s all fucked up as to where our priorities are.  Instead of going and doing a “MOSH” on these dumb ass politicians, we go and talk about being “In Da’ Club” , gettin’ “Grillz” and “Bullshit and Party“. Go and ”MOSH!” Hold people responsible for the idea that “A Change is Gonna Come.”

You know, instead of being about “Black or White” just look at the simple fact that “We Are The World“, Don’t say it’s “Human Nature” to destroy ourselves when we have success. Instead of saying “They Don’t Care About Us“, look at the person “in the mirror“, stop “Waiting For the World to Change” and do what you can to “Heal The World“. Remember we are “One” because we are all “Citizens of the World.” Keep pushin’ because we’ve all “Come So Far” but we do have a way to go. Push ON!!!! Make it so that we can all say “Ooh Child, Things are Gonna Get Easier.” It will take a “Miracle” but they happen every single day… so we must keep going so we can “Move On Up!”

I ask that you “Keep Your Head Up” and remember that regardless of what anyone tells you, you can “Make It Happen” “When You Believe.” Remember to help the “World, Hold On” and become a part of the “Love Generation” Let’s all work together to make this a “Wonderful World!”

With much love; peace and cooking grease going out to you all. Namaste, peace be with you all,Shalom, As-Salāmu `Alaykum!

Much love to you.

KDM

P.s. In this letter, I am also going to quickly address a few things that I have online that are troubling.

  1. To those who have said that we don’t care about non-celebrities… I call bullshit on that. All life, regardless of situation, is valuable. No one person’s death is greater than another. Loss is loss. Life is ever-changing, yet we still have sadness when someone passes on.
  2. To those who talk about a person’s negative traits/vices, all I can say to that is “pot calling kettle black.” No one is perfect, we all have flaws, so stop knockin’ people for their flaws, because you could be in their shoes. Instead of hating on them for the flaws… love them.
  3. It might seem contradictory to the first two but if you read it carefully, it is actually not… respect that everyone has an opinion. You don’t have to agree with it, but you do have to respect that they have one. Without it, nothing would ever truly get done. The process is slow now, but without opinions, it would be at a stand still.

That is all

I say to you again…

Namaste, Peace Be With You All, Shalom, As-Salāmu `Alaykum!
